THE 'HOW NOT TO DO IT' VIDEO SERIES
Come back each month to find out what's new. Have a chuckle as you witness the situations I get into and try to make a dollar doing so. You never know, one or two videos might even show you the right way to do it - sell travel like a pro that is. Stay tuned.
ALL THINGS TO ALL PEOPLE TRAVELIn this how NOT to do it video Steve the owner of Steve's Travel decides to appear bigger than he is. When a client calls about going to Australia he tells the caller that he has an Aussie specialist in the office, then switching into a poor Aussie accent and lingo he hopes to impress the client with the number of staff his home-based agency employs. Of course, he steps out of character and the game is up. Being quick of lip however he manages to find the words to recover and keep the customer on the line.
So don't try this at home! Not unless you're really good at accents. Stay true to you! Be the best you can be. No need trying to be something you're not. |
ROCKBOTTOM TRAVELA tongue in cheek look at Rockbottom Travel and how you can use the keyboard to let the client know 1) that you are working hard on the callers inquiry and 2) that the price, and your fees, are worth all this work!
Now on a serious note, this 'activity' or sounds of activity can help you move closer to a sale. The client usually says something like, "You sound busy..." Now the key thing is, that you do not pound the keyboard on your desk, (not by your headset as in the video!) - you are not supposed to come across as angry. Just working hard. |
SNOBBERY TRAVELSo here we have Reggie! Reggie is a world traveller and deals only in luxury travel and prefers to deal with people that can pay luxury prices. This caller is not the profile Reggie wants and is quickly dispatched using the rustling paper technique!
From time to time you will attract a client who has suffered first hand someone like Reggie. To win this client all you have to do is treat them like the gold dust they are. Remember they have friends, that can turn any interaction viral. They might have had the type of luxury friends Reggie seeks. But this time - he will not win them will he? |
